Energy Tarot Reading: November 2019

November 2019

With Halloween, also known as Samhain, just around the corner, what better time to put to use my new Anne Stokes’ Gothic Tarot Cards, gifted to me last month by my husband for our wedding anniversary.

As this is a general energy reading for November 2019, obviously take what resonates for you from your reading below. If it’s not something that seems relevant to you and your life then these messages won’t be for you this time. If you’re looking for more personalised messages then feel free to contact me for a personal reading, details and packages of which can be found over at our Facebook page:

Picking your Cards…

Four of Swords Tarot Cards Anne Stokes www.myholisticliving.co.uk

Four of Swords (reversed):

The Swords denote intellect, thoughts, mental stimulation with the four being a time for deep reflection and meditation, musings and pondering. A time to be alone with one’s thoughts to gain a better understanding of a situation.

If you’ve never tried meditation before, this could be a perfect time to give it a try and, with being reversed, suggests to me that is something that you are sorely in need of.

The Empress Tarot Cards Anne Stokes www.myholisticliving.co.uk

The Empress:

A maternal, earthy energy, nurturing and creative. It can of course denote an actual pregnancy or be metaphorical such as birthing a new project or idea.

She is the power behind the Emperor’s throne; a source of inner strength and a wise and loving ruler.

Maybe a time to show your nurturing side – whether to yourself or others.

The Chariot

The Chariot:

A change of energies here, suggestive of a time of picking up the pace, maybe feeling pulled in all directions, forward movement, travel, victory and progress.

It feels as though the end of November could start to get extremely busy for you with you maybe feeling like you’ve taken on too much. Stick with it as the card in the upright position suggests you are moving in the right direction.

Ace of Swords

Ace of Swords:

Another card of the Swords suit. The Ace is the beginning and, being Swords, suggests the beginning of an idea or thought.

Your mind becomes consumed as the seeds of a new idea begin to take hold. Think it over carefully before deciding how to act. Your thinking is likely to be razor-sharp at this time.

The Takeaway

This felt a very clear message for those it is meant for; if you’re feeling burnt-out, stressed, over-stretched, indecisive, unsure or just out of sorts in any way, what have you got to lose by spending 5 minutes a day in silent reflection with yourself. You may be thinking that you can’t spare 5 minutes a day, but as someone who often feels the same, I know my day always feels much calmer and do-able when I take the time to meditate, especially in the morning.

This would coincide with the message of The Empress – nurturing yourself is a way of not only loving yourself but in doing so you are better able to nurture and love others. Meditation is an easy and effective way to do that. Carve out just 5 minutes a day for yourself to sit with yourself and your thoughts and listen to the sound of your breathing. Meditation is not about not thinking. Rather it is to simply observe your thoughts, which will come, and become aware of them. Then bring it back to the present by simply focusing on your breathing.

And you’re going to need those 5 minutes a day to yourself to better handle the faster-paced energies of The Chariot in the latter half of November when you become even busier. Take the time now to establish the habit of meditation and it will pay dividends for you at this hectic time.

The end of November feels calmer again, if you’ve listened to the guidance and messages from your Higher Self and carved out just 5 minutes a day to nurture yourself through meditation, even through the busy times. In doing so, you’ll sharpen your mental strength and might just hit on a fantastic new idea – be sure to think it through from all angles whilst your wits are about you. This is not the time to act but to enjoy the birthing of a new idea.

Until next time…

Feeling Undecided?

Decisions, Decisions

If you love the story The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe by C S Lewis but haven’t yet read the prequel to it, The Magician’s Nephew, then first of all get yourself a copy of it as it really sets up the later stories (7 in total), explaining how it is that the wardrobe leads to a magical world, for example.

In fact, it always surprises me how few people know that there even is a prequel. Maybe this is because the 3 Disney films now available in the series start with the second, but better-known, story of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe, followed naturally by Prince Caspian and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.

“The Deeper Magic”

When I was younger and read The Magician’s Nephew, it was just a very good story but, as I’ve said in previous blogs, what makes a story good to me these days is something that stays with you even after you’ve finished reading. In this case, what stayed with me was the following poem from the story:

"Make your choice, adventurous Stranger,
Strike the bell and bide the danger,
Or wonder, till it drives you mad,
What would have followed if you had."

C S Lewis - The Magician's Nephew

Slightly dark for a kids’ book really! A lot of truth in the message though – how many times have we said something to ourselves like “I’d rather do it and regret it afterwards then spend my whole life wondering what might have come of it if I’d done it”. This poem, read as a child just because I liked fantasy stories, is something that comes back to me, again and again, whenever I’m on the fence about something, because it always helps me make up my mind.

What about you – is there a favourite book quote you find comes back to you at certain times? Or could the above poem help you make up your mind?

August 2019 Energy Update: Tarot Reading

Tarot Reading: August 2019

Having not uploaded a tarot reading in a while, today seemed as good a day as any to consult the tarot for a sneak peak at the August 2019 energies.

The Deck

The Manga Tarot Deck being today’s pack of choice

The Spread

I had sat down to read planning to do either 1-card for each week of August or for 1 card to represent 10 days each of the month. However, when the cards came out it didn’t feel like that sort of a reading. Instead the cards fed into each other so well that I actually read all 3 cards as one energy for the entire month as there really didn’t seem too much change.

The Reading

Overall Energies

The energy for August 2019 is of constant. Wherever you are right now it doesn’t seem like there is going to be much of a change in your situation in August. Knowing that, you might think that there’s not much you can do about it but there’s where you’d be wrong – August is a perfect time to relish in abundance which was the keyword that kept coming up. The time for changes and fresh starts feels more prosperous in September so if it’s possible to hold off any plans for doing so try to wait until then.

When The World comes out reversed it suggests roadblocks, delays, giving up and failures.  However with this card “looking” towards the 7 of Cups, a card where there can seem to be lots of options as to how you can proceed, the trick is knowing which of your options are realistic and achievable and which are just illusions and castles in the sky. It’s also a good time to ask yourself:

“Do I want this option at any cost? Am I willing to pay any price for it?”

This downbeat energy can lead to you being pulled off course by temptation or deciding not to try at all because there’s “no point” as you can’t see the progress with the 7 of Pentacles reversed. Alternatively, you might find yourself trying harder than ever because you feel like a failure in some way.

But the energy will shift again and that is the time to make progress. August is a time of considering your options carefully and getting in touch with what you have now that can make you feel abundant and enough.

Another key word that sprang to mind was satisfaction and how to feel it on the journey to where you’re headed, not once you reach your destination.

Tap into your surroundings this month and enjoy what you can right now. If you must do something to progress at this time, instead of focusing on airy-fairy impossible dreams, focus on what you have gained or are on track for gaining. It may not be what you were expecting but this is where you’ll discover the rewards of this energy.

The gains are less likely to be material or financial in nature but more likely to be good times and memories made with our friends and family, hobbies and interests being developed and just enjoying this slower pace over the Summer Holidays before the pace picks back up at the beginning of September.

I hope that you enjoyed this tarot reading; feel free to share with others!

Free Oracle Reading For You

Ask the Oracle!

Step inside the fabulously nonsensical World of Wonderland and look at your problems from a very different point of view through the wisdom of Alice: The Wonderland Oracle.

Before reading further, I would like you to look at each of the 3 cards above in turn whilst considering your query. What is it you wish the Oracle to reveal to you? Which card do you feel drawn to?

The card on the left is Card 1, the card in the middle Card 2 and the card on the right is Card 3

Card 1: MortalityLife is Brief, Beautiful and Yours to Live!

At first glance, this card can be scary, much like the Death card of the tarot. However, it does not portend an actual death of someone – more accurately it portends the death of everyone – one day. If you chose Card 1, you are being asked whether or not you are living your best life or are you taking the next day for granted? If so, your Oracle message is to start making memories now, today, not “one day”, as one day it may be too late.

Card 2: I Want to be a Queen Stating Your Sovereignty – Declaring Freedom – Passing a Test

Having passed through a trying time, you are now ready to rule as Queen (or King!) of your world if you selected Card 2. You recognise both your rights and responsibilities in how you live your life, your potential and place in the world. You are no longer willing to live by boundaries and rules you do not agree with at “any cost”, and certainly not at the cost of the freedom to be you. You are focused and are in a good position to make decisions. Your Oracle message is to now step into your power and take charge of your life!

Card 3: Growing Up Wanting to Grow in Experience – Rejection of Perpetual Youth

Selecting Card 3 denotes a worry of growing old, of not wishing to grow up and face responsibilities or simply not accepting how you are ageing gracefully, whilst at the same time appreciating that growing up is very much a part of life. Maybe you are feeling torn; wishing to stay forever young but perhaps not feeling it? The Oracle’s message for you is to know that whilst the body may age and the soul/spirit too, all age really is, is proof of our experiences, memories and wisdom. Would you really trade all of that to look/feel forever young?

Did the Oracle have a message for you?

I do hope that the Oracle had a meaningful message for you – remember tools of divination such as the Oracle cards are meant to help you in your life’s journey, not set out in stone how things will turn out. To really get the most from these readings, meditate on your message for a while, ask yourselves the questions raised and become an active part of the reading which though intended for all who read it, will have an individual message just for you.

Until next time….
